An evening of walking Main Street is common, ending at the 2-screen theater or one of the many music filled bars.


River Bike Trail

The Great River Trail is a breathtaking journey along more than 60 miles of the Mississippi River in northern Illinois. Camping and lodging are available for overnight trips.

This family friendly facility is packed with interesting, hands-on exhibits and provides a dramatic view of the world’s most majestic and celebrated river.

Mississippi River

 The Mississippi River is one of the world’s largest river systems and is a must see while in Savanna.  Rent one of cSavanna's Kayaks or Peddle Boats, stroll along the riverfront or cast your line and catch some Mississippi Catfish.


Palisades State Park

The Mississippi Palisades State Park is located in Savanna along the lofty, wooded palisades of the Mississippi Rive. Enjoy hiking more then 15 miles of trails and five breathtaking scenic overlooks.  This is the only State Park the Still allows rock climbing.  Mississippi Palisades State Park has an impressive 241 campsites. 


Mississippi River Wildlife Refuge

The refuge encompasses one of the largest blocks of floodplain habitat in the lower 48 states. Bordered by steep wooded bluffs that rise 100 to 600 feet above the river valley, the Mississippi River corridor and refuge offer scenic beauty and productive fish and wildlife habitat unmatched in the heart of America.
